18th and 19th July 2009. A week-end not to miss!

We are now a few days away from this year’s Pageant of Power and excitement is building!

We have various facilities available to you which could help to make your Pageant of Power and or Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert even better!

· Customised Military Themed Fireworks picnic hampers-beautifully presented in wicker baskets, including cutlery, plates and all necessary accoutrements available at a range of prices; please call Terina at the Cholmondeley Farm Shop on 01829720201

· Pre-order your food/camping supplies such as eggs, bacon, milk etc which are then delivered to your tent or caravan ready for breakfast etc please call Terina at the Cholmondeley Farm Shop on 01829720201

· ‘Hog Roast’, Friday 17th 7pm, £15.00 adults/ £8.00 children 12 years and under at the Cholmondeley Arms, within easy walking distance from the Castle grounds. Booking in advance is essential; please call Hugo on 01829720300 to book.

Track action

Over 150 of the best historic racing cars and bikes will be driven at breath taking speeds on the specially constructed track.

This years theme is Bugatti – a name with which the Cholmondeley family has long connections, having been close friends with Ettore Bugatti between the wars.

On the mere

The Cholmondeley Championships will be staging the largest collection of Inshore Powerboats in the UK with World Champions competing in Thundercat, Hydroplanes and both Formula 2 and 4 boats.

ThunderCat Tour will be present with an exhibition of the types of series that race around the UK; From the action-packed inflatable boat racing (ThunderCat Racing UK), High-octane Offshore monohull racing (ThunderBolt racing) and the exciting youth series (ThunderCubs). From the air

Classic and modern aircraft will be flying in over the weekend, with over 175 private helicopters expected.  Military aircraft and civilian static displays along with a Spitfire flypast, parachute action, aerial agility and role demonstrations including a unique display from the Breitling Red Bull aerial display plane.

Military

Army demonstrations with armoured vehicles including the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank, Warrier Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Scimitar Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle, artillery and 4x4 action.  The event charity is the Army Benevolent Fund.

Fun for all the family

Including the JCB Dancing Diggers 4x4 driving experience, period fun fair, go karts and Scalextric racing.

Army assault course, climbing wall and human table football.

Other attractions

Vintage and Classic Motoring Clubs.

Shopping village and Tradestands including auto memorabilia, motorcar trade area and a ‘Country Living’ area.

Cholmondeley Pageant Bar and an excellent choice of high quality food and drinks.

Camping facilities.

Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert

Saturday will conclude with the annual Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert performed by the Manchester Camerata Orchestra. 2009 will have a military theme with marching bands, music ranging from Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries and Star Wars to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture accompanied by real cannon fire and a spectacular fireworks display.

The Management reserves the right to remove any person or property who in its opinion is not suitable to use the park

THE PAGEANT OF POWER-DIRECTIONS

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power is easily accessible from all routes, and there will be highly visible local signage providing additional directions during the Pageant weekend.

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power takes place at Cholmondeley Castle (postcode for Sat Nav is SY14 8AH) (view on map), which is situated on the A49, the main north-south route from Northwich and Warrington (N) to Whitchurch, Shrewsbury and beyond (S). There are excellent links to the motorway network.

The site itself is easily navigable, with the main entrances off the A49, plus further entrance and exit points on surrounding minor roads.
