New 2009 RYA National Championship rules

Posted 09/12/2008 - 19:06 by fiona

9 Dec 2008

New 2009 rules are now published in our Racing section. Remember they are in draft format until the RYA have reviewed them.

A taster of what's to come in 2009...

February to March:

'Free' extensive training courses for new racers and experienced to learn the rules & regulations; set-up of boat, engine and props; racing tactics.

RYA (cost) qualifications with opportunities to take part in an advanced RYA course that will take the boats out at night - a personal challenge and not for the faint hearted (must have RYA Level 2).

Refresher courses for all officials and potential officials, enabling them to understand new rules & regulations for 2009.

Brighton 18th - 20th September: 'WhiteAir Extreme Festival' This well-known event that was normally based in the Isle of Wight has now been moved to a larger and accessible venue. The growth of 'WhiteAir' has been fantastic and for us to join them will give excellent opportunities for our teams and partners; a definite Win-Win synergy!

Penmaenmawr beach, Conwy North Wales 20th - 21st June: 'Adrenaline Coast Festival' organised by ourselves, will see 'on and off the water high-octane fun'. From music & skateboards to Thundercat racing and Poker Run. This event will be a new experience for Penmaenmawr community!

PROVISIONAL 2009 Calendar

Posted 12/12/2008 - 18:33 by fiona

12 Dec 2008

The 'PROVISIONAL' 2009 calendar is now on the Community stories page for all members that have registered and can log-on. When venues are confirmed they will be added to 'Current season'.

'Thundercat Racing community' now prospers due to the surge in growth, not only with competitors and volunteers but we are forging long term partnerships with...

'Dreamwall' our new and exciting charity, that helps youth less fortunate than us. ThunderCat Racing UK will be hosting training days at HQ and inviting the kids to become part of our community assisting at our Adrenaline festivals, gaining valuable experience, self confidence and excellent team building opportunities.

'Southampton Solent University' (SSU). Have agreed for 'Solent Production' to be part of the ThunderCat Racing media enterprise, filming every event with their outside broadcasting trucks producing live-links and footage that will be aired on thundercatracing.TV, commercial channels and their own TV sites.. The growth of this exciting project over the next few years will see expansion to other faculties, enabling students to gain practical commercial experience whilst still at university. SSU has a strong connection to many of us as we all went to the university ending up within the Marine industry, so we are all very excited about this project.

Look on the 'Community' pages for updates on what's happening within all parts of our society!

'Broad spectrum education' is the core of Thundercatracing's community, it's not rocket science, not a cult but common sense and humanity. An excellent book by Stephen Covey illustrates exactly how we believe we will thrieve when others seem to stagnate. The nuclei in our ethos, whether commercially or community is 'Win -Win' to life.

  1. 1. Being Proactive
  2. 2. Begin with the end in mind
  3. 3. Put first things first
  4. 4. Think 'Win-Win'
  5. 5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
  6. 6. Synergize
  7. 7. Sharpen the saw

Using the above, we all assist each other in forwarding life in all areas; Racers and Officials training programs, helping those less fortunate to access the water and feel possitive about their ability. Being strong means we can see the future in 'high-octane adrenaline festivals, with a core understanding of community'.
